We buy into Paula Abdul as capable of discerning talent on American Idol because she had talent in another decade. She did good, she’s done and now she gets some say; right? Problem with that is— poppy pop stars think they have longevity. They don’t.
She needs to stop this mess. The video has the same hair, same outfits and same choreography from the ’90s. Cool 10 years ago, now, not so much. MSNBC is reporting:
Paula Abdul is extremely disappointed in the new music video for “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow,” according to a source close to the “American Idol” judge. “She doesn’t think it’s Heidi Montag-bad, but she’s still trying to pretend like it didn’t happen. If Randy (Jackson) wasn’t involved, she’d be more vocal about it, but she does appreciate the fact that he was involved.”
Good lord. I don’t know what’s worse: the wind machine, the snap shot/freeze frame effect from back-in-the-day or the blowing satin effect. I prefer to remember her as she was in Opposites Attract. I had the rap memorized and everything; that video was the shit!
